Alterations

It is important to us that we help you from beginning to end so we have an in-house seamstress to provide alterations needed to your gown. Alterations are not included in the price of your garments and appointments are required. We want to make sure you have a wonderful experience and all the finishing touches are perfect for your special day.

We work with April Abernathy of Sew Fit Bridal Alterations, which has a space in our store. Alterations are by appointment only on Tuesday afternoons and Fridays. While alterations are primarily done on gowns purchased at Perfect Dress, we do take in bridal gowns and other formal wear bought elsewhere. Payments for services can be paid via cash, check or Venmo to April Abernathy.

In addition to alterations, through our partnership with Sew Fit, we can create beautiful gowns, veils and flower girl dresses.

Be ready for your fitting

Have your shoes! Hems cannot be done without the shoes you are planning to wear.

Bring all the undergarments you plan to wear with your gown

‍

To avoid increased costs, don't have alterations done too early. Weight can always fluctuate so you want to have your alterations done 4-6 weeks before your wedding for your gown and 3-4 weeks prior to the wedding for bridesmaids

Budget: the average cost is between $150-$300 for bridal gowns and $50-$75 for bridesmaid dresses

Expect to come back for your 2nd fitting about 2 weeks after your 1st. It may take 3-4 fittings to perfect your gown.
